Celeb Tweeters (Twitterers?)
3.16.2009
- Real
- Michael Ian Black
MIB trends towards having a plot for his tweets each day. He starts the morning with a funny premise and drives it towards an absurd but hilarious conclusion. For fans of that crew, Michael Showalter and David Wain are also on Twitter.
- Rainn Wilson
Harsh, brash, dry, and kind of a dick. Rainn Wilson is much more like Dwight Schrute than I initially anticipated, which is awesome.
- Shaquille O'Neal
Shaq may very well be one of the funniest and most likable celebrities on Twitter. He's casual, down to earth, and often has contests where you have to find him and touch his shoulder to win a prize (usually basketball tickets.)
- Louis C.K.
Does this require much of an explanation? He's funny.
- Snoop Dogg
It sometimes takes a minute to figure out what the Doggfather is saying but, whatever it is, I'm paying attention.
- Fake
- Christopher Walken
Whomever created Walken has his manner of speaking down pretty well. As long as you read the tweets in Walken's voice, this is a thoroughly enjoyable impostor.
- Tina Fey
Like a sucker, I believed this was really Fey for a few weeks. It's infrequently updated but, before the dutch oven post, everything seemed like it could legitimately have come from her. Then, Fey's people confirmed it as a fake and I was devastated. Ok, no I wasn't, but I was angry for being duped.
- Dr. Tobias Funke
There's a phony never-nude in the Twitterverse. I'm grasping at straws here but I'm still a sucker for any Arrested Development connection.
- 80s Eddie Murphy
Fake Eddie Murphy was on a torrid pace posting tweets for a week or two, and then suddenly stopped. I hope he comes back.
